Roses without a doubt are one of the world's most nationally recognised flowers, carrying historical and emotional symbolic meanings. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but are a versatile and come in a huge variety of colours, shapes and sizes to suit even the fussiest of flower receivers. With alluring beauty, it's no wonder the rose is a timeless classic.

Rose Symbolism and Meanings
The roses most common associated meaning is romance and love - hence why its such a popular choice to give your love on Valentine's Day or as an act of declaring your love. The classic red rose represents love, passions and devotion to the receiver, but other roses have as equally important meanings:
- White roses symbolise innocence, purity and hope. They are also a popular wedding flower choice
- Pink roses symbolise gratitude, appreciation, sweetness and gratefulness. Pink roses are also a great flower for Mother's Day!
- Yellow roses symbolise joy, happiness, and friendship.
- Orange roses symbolise passion, desire, and excitement.
- Purple/lilac roses symbolise new love, excitement and enchantment.
How to Care For Your Roses
When you get your roses home, make sure you prepare them and get them ready! Roses are typically thirsty flowers and will need to be placed into water.
- Clean your selected vase with warm soapy water and rinse. Fill the vase with clean, room temperature water and add flower food.
- Cut the stems at an angled cut and trim 1 to 2cm off.
- Remove any foliage that may touch the waterline
- Place your roses into the vase and rearrange
- Make sure to change the water every two days and re-cut the stems.
