Mother'S Day X Vida Flores

Giving Mum blooms on Mother’s Day can be special – her favourite flowers, her favourite smell or even giving her a smile that only blooms can bring.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we hosted a Mother’s Day workshop at Vida Flores Florist for a Mother’s Day Florist and Design Workshop. We invited a group of women and their Mums/Motherly figure/friend to come along and learn how to create a large bountiful vase of flora and foliage in a simple vase arrangement.

With everyone arriving at 11am, with a small bunch and chit chatter, the ladies were directed to their stations, and Davina showed and shared some tips on how to create and inspire floral design. Showing the ladies spiraling effects, placement and how to trim before placing in the vase, the ladies set off in their own creations. Given a bucket of roses, Spider Chrissies, Hydrangea Leave foliage, Ruscus foliage, pink Stock, Freesias, Tulips, and Alstroemerias.

Creating their own bouquets, the ladies stripped the leaves, arranging the flora and foliage, finally tying and cutting for vase placement. Vida went around the room correctly technique and guiding the ladies, while still letting their artistic sides take over. The ladies then were able to take the vase and bouquets home, as well as floristry must-have tools and a guide on how to best look after your florals.
